Terms of service

Informal Summary

  • You do not give away any rights to your story by publishing on ReadWave.

  • Uploading the story on ReadWave will not stop you from publishing it later on and you are free to continue submitting your stories to publishers, literary agents and magazines.

  • By publishing a story onto ReadWave you are claiming copyright ownership of it, so please do not upload anything onto ReadWave that isn't yours.

  • You grant ReadWave a limited license to make your content available on our website, as well as through the ReadWave Widget and through our Facebook App.

  • You can remove your story from ReadWave at any time and ReadWave will not keep a copy of it.

  • When uploading a story to ReadWave you will be presented with three different types of license. Please choose the option that is best suited for you:

    1. All Rights Reserved

This is the recommended option. It means that you retain all the rights to your story and give nothing away. This is the license type that most traditional published authors use.

    2. NoDerivs (CC-BY-NC-ND)

This Creative Commons license allows other people to copy, distribute, display and perform your work, providing that they fully credit you with creating it, that they do not do it for commercial reasons, and that they do not alter it in anyway. This license is suitable for those who want to give away their stories for free in as many places as they can online. Visit this creative commons page for more information.

    3. Sharealike (CC-BY-NC-SA)

This Creative Commons license means that other people can add to your stories, borrow your characters, build on your plots as well as share and display your work online, providing that they full credit you with being the original creator. This license is suitable for those who want to work collaboratively with other writers. Visit this creative commons page for more information.
